The logo of FOSS Backstage is an open door

That was FOSS Backstage 2024!

Two exciting days full of interesting talks, panels and workshops have come to an end. A big thank you to everyone who took part, both onsite and online!

The sixth edition of FOSS Backstage was a great success thanks to all of you! Over 200 people from all over the world joined us to learn more about the non-coding aspects of successful open source and free software projects, to discuss and exchange new ideas, and to meet new and old friends.

Recordings of each session will be uploaded to our Youtube channel over the coming days. In the meantime, check out the new #FOSSBack photos from our amazing photographer Jan Michalko on flickr.

We were lucky to have a group of great partners this year to help us make FOSS Backstage possible. A huge thank you to our main partners Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation and OpenSearch and our recording partner Landeshauptstadt München IT-Referat! We also thank our community partners Google, The Linux Foundation and Red Hat and our coffee break partner Grafana Labs. You can find all our partners and learn more about them on our partner page.

We would like to give a big shout out to our volunteers who helped out during the event! We had Ben van’t Ende, Thomas Steenbergen, Federica Nocerino, Heike Quosdorf, Jarek Potiuk and Lukasz Gornicki moderating our onsite stages, Tejas Shah and Redeem Grimm moderating the stream chats, Shipra Katyayan & Christian Pfaab helping with registration and Emilie Totschnig helping with build up and break down. Thank you all for your support in making this event a great success!

Special thanks also to bUm and Covalent for their co-operation.

Preparations for the next edition of FOSS Backstage will be underway this autumn! If you don’t want to miss any updates, make sure to follow us on LinkedIn or Mastodon and subscribe to our newsletter!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year in Berlin or online.

All the best,

Alex, Paul, Sven & Anne
