Helping Hands

Join our build up/break down team on Sunday and Tuesday if you don’t want to miss any of the conference. Build up mainly consists of putting up some signs, placing the lecterns and stage decorations as well as preparing the registration desk. This role consists of two four hours shifts on Sunday and Tuesday.

On Monday or Tuesday you can support us at the registration desk. You will be handing out badges, check tickets and answer participants questions.

Become a stage host on Monday or Tuesday. You introduce the speakers to the audience and make sure that all speakers have what they need. Stage hosts are the link between the audience, speakers, the stage technicians and the #FOSSBack team. This includes the chance to have a little chat with some of the speakers before the talk — an opportunity many volunteers have found to be a great experience.

Join the team on Tuesday as an online stage host, welcoming the online audience, encouraging questions during the Q&A session, and answering general questions such as “Is this session being recorded? You will also moderate the chat and ensure that it remains a friendly and safe place.
