FOSS Backstage Design was the final of a week packed with great talks, panels, workshops, and conversations around FOSS. For the very first time, we dedicated a whole conference day to UX Design in FOSS.
In 11 talks and 2 workshops we discussed design methods, user research, testing and measuring usability, how to integrate design into product development, writing good documentation, how to design for XR using the power of OSS tools, and much more! Couldn’t make it in person or just want to watch the sessions again? Recordings of the talks will be uploaded to our Youtube channel in the coming weeks. Photos taken by our fantastic photographer Jan Michalko will be uploaded to flickr very soon. Special thanks to Eriol Fox and Scott Jenson for their tremendous support in the review of all submissions and the moderation of the sessions!
FOSS Backstage Design would not have been possible without our amazing partners Open Source Collective, O’Reilly, and Penpot. A huge thank you to Wikimedia Deutschland for their hospitality and WECAP GmbH for their amazing camera and sound work.
We would love to hear your thoughts on the first edition of FOSS Backstage Design! If you haven’t already done so, please take part in our feedback survey. You can also reach out to us directly with any feedback about the conference, or ideas for improvement, at info@foss-backstage.de.
FOSS Backstage Design returns next year! If you don’t want to miss any updates, make sure to follow us on LinkedIn or Mastodon and subscribe to our newsletter!
We look forward to seeing you all again next year in Berlin.
All the best,
Alex, Paul, Sven & Anne
